The power of the Church comes from its relationship with its Head – Jesus Christ. Paul told the churches about the importance of praying for each other and we encourage individuals and churches to pray for us. Here are some ideas:
God knows that I remember you every time I pray ... pray at all times (Paul writing to the Church in Rome)
Pray for the city of Porto and Northern Portugal, that the Holy Spirit of God will start to create a hunger for Him in the hearts of the people.
... and every time I pray for you all, I pray with joy (Paul writing to the church in Philippi – now Greece)
Pray that the church will truly become the united body of Christ, putting aside insignificant differences to serve the head – Christ Himself – and that He will begin the work in me.
We always give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you. Be persistent in prayer, and keep alert as you pray, giving thanks to God. (Paul writing to the church in Colosse – Asia Minor)

Pray that God will reawaken the spirits of believers in Portugal to reach out to share the love of Christ with their friends and colleagues
pray at all times ... Pray also for us, friends (Paul writing to the Thessalonians)
Pray for leaders everywhere, and especially in Porto, that they may lead as servants, demonstrating the love of Christ and wisdom from the Holy Spirit
... every time I pray, I mention you and give thanks to my God (From Paul’s letter to Philemon)
At Riverside we see prayers answered nearly every week - which is exactly as it should be because our God is a LIVING God who loves His people and wants to bless them. Please pray with us and for us.
